Making Lasik Affordable
Access to LASIK isn’t reserved for the wealthy few. At New Vision Laser Center we strive to make laser vision correction affordable for every patient. In addition to cash or checks we also offer other alternatives for payment. And regardless of which way you choose to pay for your surgery we don’t charge anything extra like some other laser centers. So, with a variety of ways to pay, there’s nothing standing between you and a change in your sight!
Insurance Coverage
Most insurance companies do not offer coverage for these procedures. However, more and more companies are beginning to understand the importance of these procedures and the impact they have on their employees’ quality of life both at work and at home. Here are some tips to help you find out if your insurance will pay for all or part of the procedure.
-
Call the number on your insurance card and ask to verify benefits for refractive surgery. You are not calling to pre-certify. Ask about coverage for refractive surgery or vision correction surgery. Sometimes it is helpful to ask specifically by the name of the procedure such as Lasik or PRK.
-
If you have any coverage, ask your insurance company to put into writing what your coverage will be and how much will be paid. Be sure to document all your conversations including with whom you speak and what you were told about coverage.
-
Lasik and PRK patients will be required to pay for the entire fee prior to surgery and then file for reimbursement through their insurance carrier. This is due to past discrepancies between what insurance companies have agreed to pay and what they have actually paid after the procedure.
Financing
New Vision Laser Center offers financing options so that you don’t have to tie up credit cards or spend cash. You can choose a payment plan to suit your budget. We offer a 6 or 12 month no interest plan as well as up to 60 months with a regular interest rate. Contact us for more details or click on one of the links below to complete credit application.
Flexible Spending
Many employers offer flexible spending accounts to help offset medical expenses. Flexible spending accounts may allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for certain medical costs, including procedures like LASIK. Ask your employer about deducting pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to realize savings on your laser vision correction.
Checks
Personal and cashier's checks are accepted (no out of town checks).
Credit Cards
We accept all major credit cards.
